The poet Bui Chat – Arrested after receiving 2011 IPA Freedom to Publish Prize
The poet Bùi Chát is the founder of Giay Vun Publishing in Vietnam and was just honoured by the International Publishers Association (IPA) in Buenos Aires on 25 April for his exemplary courage in upholding freedom to publish under difficult conditions.
Met with international concern, he was arrested by authorities upon his return to Vietnam on 30 April. The Award and Prize certificate were confiscated. Read more…
