Eugénio de Andrade was the pseudonym of José Fontinhas, (January 19, 1923 – June 13, 2005).
In 2001, Eugénio de Andrade received the Camões Prize, the most important literary prize for the Portuguese language, often regarded as the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in Literature for works in the Portuguese world.
