Birthday wishes from Sirkka Knuuttila
I send my warmest greetings to this most amazing, excellent, and well-edited international poetry website!
I want to thank lyrikline.org for the incredible moments of joy and jouissance which it has bestowed on me and my best literary friends! Its multiplicity of languages and voices is capable of producing an indispensable feeling of emotional and ethical power residing in lyric poetry written all over the world!
Listening to the voices of writers whom we can never meet in life creates a strong sense of sharing and communality. It creates a spiritual chain over geographical, political, cultural, and temporal boundaries, which leads to energy and confidence in humanity. This is seen concretely in the writings of myself and my friend, Rauni Paalanen; especially when we introduce for the Finnish audience the poetry of Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan as well as the works of living poets such as Friederike Mayröcker. (…)
I wish – and I know – that I am going to find new challenges and topics for my future writings on lyrikline.org, knowing through it, for example, the works of Cuti, Gozo Yashimoso, and Brigitte Oleschinski, just to mention a few of the inspiring poets.
LONG LIVE LYRIKLINE!!
Best wishes,
Sirkka Knuuttila, Helsinki
Congratulations from Amanda Stewart to lyrikline on its ten year anniversary.
lyrikline, for me, represents one of the most profound and important developments in the history of the dissemination and distribution of poetry. The design of the site is so smart, methodical and elegant. Anybody in the world with access to the internet can instantly connect with the work of hundreds of international poets, see their work and simultaneously hear them read it. One can also immediately experience poems in translation in many different languages which illuminates some of the cultural complexities of ‘intranslatability’ which are so relevant to our time. lyrikline creates an intimate, multi-layered, critical dreaming space for experiencing poetic process.
Congratulations and thanks to the staff of Literaturwerkstatt Berlin for the many innovative, visionary projects you have created and for your passionate commitment to representing and fostering all forms of poetry.
hugs from me,
xoxo

Birthday wishes from Tanja Kragujević
I learned about lyrikline long before I had the privilege of joining it.
This particular site seemed to me then, and it still does, like a virtual home for various poets and their poems.
The presence of a single poem, its sound, rhythm and sense – as a voice, melody, and a written verse, in short – as an open formula – represents, in my mind, the very essence of its existence, abiding and restless, in the same time, self revealing and emerging from the labyrinths of today, or forever!
In the blink of an eye, a whole universe of poetry signals is rising, forming an exciting and solemn cosmic dome for words, allowing them to fulfil their mystic transition to transparency, and their voyage from individual solitude to the overwhelming experience of togetherness.
